~ Awakening the Ouroboros ~
The year of 2025 is ruled by “9” numerologically and is the year of the Earth Snake in Chinese astrology. Both of these energies symbolise shedding the old in order to be reborn. As many major planets change signs and Lady Saturnia and Neptunia move back and forth across the Pisces/Aries cusp, a series of karmic cycles come to completion so that new life can spring forth.
The Number 9 is associated with the Hermit in Tarot, a card that is associated with the planetary frequencies of Virgo/Mercuria, this card teaches us the importance of solitude for spiritual evolution, reminding us that all we are seeking is already within. Spiritual illumination is valued over material pursuits.
This year invites us to dispel the illusions that have been holding us back, collectively and personally. It is time to wake from the dream and end the self-sabotaging patterns that keep us attached to the past so that we can move forward with courage and confidence when the make their historic conjunction at 0 degrees of Aries in February of 2026.
With Uraina and Jupitera also changing signs this year, the old world, the old identities we cling to define ourselves by are dissolving ever more rapidly. We must learn how to surrender to this void space and open to new possibilities. There is no going back to the old ways.
We enter 2025 in the midst of the ongoing Mars Retrograde. As we cross the threshold into the new calendar year the Red Warrioress opposes the Dark Goddess Plutonia in Aquarius before returning to the womb waters of Cancer on the 7th of January.
On the 12th of January the North Node joins Saturnia and Neptunia in Pisces, as the tail of the Dragon enters Virgo. This is the nodal axis of deep soul healing, purification and cleansing on all levels. Virgo/Pisces encourages finding the balance between service and sacrifice, control and surrender, compassion and discernment. It reminds us that building our dreams requires discipline and devotion. The Nodes were previously active on the Pisces/Virgo polarity during June 2006, to December 2007 and November 2015 to May 2017.
Mars stations direct on the 24th of February at 17 degrees of the sign of the Moon Mother. She will now recover the ground She has been retrograding over since She entered Her shadow period on the 4th October! What has transformed within your life over the past 5 months? Do you feel more empowered to nurture your unique creative essence and projects? Have you learned to create a secure and stable environment for yourself to flourish? What ancestral healing has occurred for you? Do you feel more able to allow self to be seen and held? Mars re-enters Leo on the 18th of April and leaves Her Shadow on the 3rd of May.
As Mars regains forward motion, Lady Venus/Inanna, our Queen of Heaven and Earth descends into the underworld realms of Ereshkigal once more. Venus Stations retrograde at 10 degrees of Aries on the 2nd of March. She too will traverse the 0 point of the Silver Wheel, as She retrogrades back into Pisces on the 27th of March where She will merge with the North Node and Neptunia, Goddess of the Unknowable Mystery. This retrograde sets the tone for the year of 2025, as Saturnia and Neptunia also prepare to move back and forth over these critical degrees of the Zodiac.
We must allow the Piscean Waters to wash away the karmic ties of the past, we must learn to let go with love if we wish to be resurrected into our true power and destiny through the fires of Aries.
With Plutonia now in Aquarius until 2044, we are being forced to clear the shadows of the Piscean Age collectively and personally. We can longer claim victimhood or seek outside of ourselves for authorities or institutions to save us.
Mercuria, the Cosmic Messenger Goddess travels alongside Venus, as She stations retrograde at 9 degrees of the sign of the Ram on the 15th of March. She will also move back into Pisces during Her journey, stationing direct at 26 degrees of the sign of Fish on the 7th of April. Venus emerges from the underworld on the 12th of April, leaving Her shadow on the 16th of May.
This period will be a deep refection will be a powerful opportunity to reflect on our relationship to ourselves. The Aries frequency that permeates the astrology of 2025/26 invites us attune to what it is we deeply desire, and have the courage and confidence to assert our truth without fear.
Amidst the retrograde energies, March also brings us the first Eclipse portal of 2025. On the 23rd of March we have a Lunar eclipse in Virgo, the first in the new nodal cycle. On the 29th of March we have a solar Eclipse on the final degree of the sign of Ram, bringing culmination to the previous Eclipse pattern. These Eclipse invite us to purify in order to empower ourselves. What do we truly need to let go of so that we can be renewed? What changes are we avoiding making?
On the 30th of March, Neptunia leaves the sign of Her rulership where She has been floating since 2011 and enters Aries, beginning a brand-new zodiacal cycle for the first time since 1871! During pervious Neptunia in Aries transit’s themes of defending spiritual or religious beliefs have come to the forefront of collective consciousness. The Christian Crusades, and the dissolution of the monasteries happened during Neptune in Aries cycles.
The illusions and deceptions we have been collectively living under since 2011 when Neptunia first entered Pisces will begin to dispel, as Saturnia also enters Aries on the 24th of May, encouraging us to define what is true for us. As Saturnia and Neptunia dance back and forth over the cusp of renewal, we are collectively birthing a new reality, but what will we choose? What are we will to fight for? What will we defend to the end? How important is our freedom and autonomy?
Aries is the sign of self, of who I am. How we identify ourselves, and what we identify with is changing. We will awaken to the Neptunian truth that we are multidimensional beings that contain multitudes? Or will we allow ourselves to become defined by a digital ID? Or an AI fantasy avatar?
The last time Saturnia was in Aries was between April 1996 and June 1998.
As we head through Beltane and towards Solstice, the energy becomes clearer as Mars, Venus and Mercuria leave their retrograde shadows and we prepare for two more planetary goddesses to shift signs…..
Jupitera, the Golden Goddess leaves dualistic Gemini and enters oceanic depths of Cancer on the 9th of June. Jupitera is exalted in the sign of Cancer, making this a fertile and abundant transit. The things we nurture with love will grow and expand exponentially. This transit brings a deep desire to connect with tribe, to lay down roots and create a secure and safe space to retreat too. It places more importance on feeling our emotions, allowing ourselves time to rest and replenish over hard work and accomplishment. Jupitera was last in Cancer in 2013/14.
As Jupitera enters Cancer She will immediately square Saturnia in Aries. This alignment speaks of defending our home and family, of protecting what is most dear to us.
On July the 7th we have our fourth and final big Planetary shift of the year as Urania enters Gemini on the 7th of July. Urania is the ruling planet of the Aquarian Aeon, making Her movements particularly significant during these times of change. She has been moving through Taurus, the sign of the Cow Mother since 2018 shaking up our perceptions around values, resources and self-worth. Last time Urania was in Gemini was 1941 to 1949, during the second world war. Looking back through history we can see that periods when Urania in Gemini transits coincide with Plutonia was in Aquarius or Neptunia in Aries as it will over the coming years, have been times of great revolution and restructuring within society.
Urania is much more easily able to express Her true nature in Airy Gemini, than fixed, materialistic Taurus. We can expect even more rapid changes and developments in how we communicate, with particular focus on how we use internet. Expect new and more extreme uses for AI and social media.
Urania in Gemini seeks to expand our mind to open us to the thousands of different ideas, perceptions and possibilities available to us in any moment. During previous Urania in Gemini, some of the most thought-provoking literature in existence has been written. Scientific and astronomical discoveries that have changed reality have revealed themselves.
This can be a time of radically re-envisioning the world, but we must ensure that we are living from an embodied space not lost in a virtual reality. Urania will remind us of this as She dips back into earthy Taurus from the 8th of November 2025 to the 26th of April 2026.
Neptunia stations retrograde in Aries on the 4th of July, followed by Saturnia on the 13th. Both these Celestial Goddesses will to Pisces over the Autumn winter months (Saturnia on the 2nd of September, Neptunia on the 22nd of October) giving us the opportunity to revisit the past one last time. What needs to be finally released before the great 0 degrees conjunction of 2026?
Mercuria also heads into Her second fire sign retrograde of 2026 in Leo on the 18th of July at 15 degrees of the Lioness. Over the past few years we have had a series of retrogrades in Sols sign, beginning with Venus in summer of 2023, Mercuria Herself retrograded between Virgo and Leo in August of 2024 and we also began 2025 with Mars retrograding here. Leo is the opposite, balancing polarity to Aquarius. These retrogrades emphasizing the Leonine frequency are here to remind us of the importance of staying connected to our hearts, our sovereign individuality and our authentic human creativity during this time of technological expansion and collective evolution to towards oneness. We are reminded not to get so caught up in the online ‘hive mind’ we forget who we are. Mercuria will station direct on the 11th of August at 4 degrees of Leo.
September sees us heading into the final eclipse season of 2025 with a Full Moon Eclipse in Pisces on the 7th of September, bringing us back around to the energy of deep soul cleansing and surrender as we approach the Equinox portal. As we move through this two-week period of alchemy, Saturnia and Neptunia will continue their ongoing dance across the last degrees of Pisces and first degree of Aries amplifying the themes of dissolving old structure to create space for the new.
The eclipse cycle comes to completion with new Moon Eclipse at the final, critical degrees of the Virgo on the 21st of September. Sitting in opposition to Saturnia, this eclipse powerfully brings us back to reality. Inviting to clarify and anchor our intentions for the final months of 2025.
On the 22nd of September, Mars finally returns to Her ancient home sign of the Scorpioness for the first time in two years, leading through the into the winter months and Samhain season. We finish off 2025 with a final Mercuria retrograde. Our cosmic messenger will station retrograde at 6 degrees of Sagittarius on the 9th of November, moving backwards across the final degrees of the Scorpion until She resumes direct motion on the 30th of November. This retrograde period can bring many deeply hidden truths out to light as we move from the underworld of the psyche into the fires of Gnosis.
In many ways, 2025 feels like a bridging year as many planets shift back and forth across the cusps of the signs. It is a time of closing and completion as we decide what to take forward into 2026 when multiple new cycles begin……..
